Wrecked Gumpert Apollo S |
I may be an experienced driver at the age of 18, but I've seen what happens when teenagers go crazy behind the wheel of a sports car. I myself drive a $72,000 Range Rover Sport, but I treat that thing like a sports car because it feels like one. To this day, that car is still clean, no scratches, no dents, no nothing. This (above), on the other hand, is an example of when young drivers don't use their brains. In Germany, a 20-year old jockey decided to run around with his 19-year old girlfriend in a Twin-Turbocharged 700 horsepower V8-powered Gumpert Apollo S. That car, ideally, is a very fast car. It will do 0 to 60 in just 3.00 seconds and hit a top speed of 224 MPH. Need For Speed consider this thing a hyper car since it's so powerful, so light, and so nimble. This car was king of the Top Gear test track for a while with a time of 1:17.1, keeping the Bugatti Veyron at bay. This was a brilliant car, and certainly didn't need to end up like that picture above; just a cockpit and some scrap metal. And to make things worse, the car didn't even belong to the idiot. So there goes a $400,000 car that would've gone into the history books as the longest living hyper car ever. So, all of you rich parents out there with your M6's and Murcielago's and R*'s, here's a friendly tip. Unless your children are experienced enough and know how to treat cars well, never lend them your expensive set of wheels. If you do, they might end looking like this.
